RULES

Art.1 The competition

The first edition of the “Città di Cervignano” competition is organized by the AGM Academy (ass. AGM – Center for Artistic, Music, Choreutic and Linguistic Studies Aps) of Cervignano del Friuli. The main scope of the competition is to promote the study of music, increase international exchanges and enhance local talents. The event is open to young musicians, both male and female, of any nationality

Art.2 Procedures and location

The auditions will held in presence at the locations identified by the AGM Association in Cervignano del Friuli (Ud-Italy) or neighboring cities and they will be evaluated by the committees on 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th of April 2022; the concert of the winners will take place at the Pasolini theater in Cervignano on 10th of April at 5:00 PM. Because of the pandemic situation, the competition can be held in alternative ways, officially communicated by the association.

Art. 3 Sections

The competition is articulated into 4 sections: I Guitar, II Piano, III Violin, IV Flute. For each section there are different categories depending on the age of the participants.

Art. 4 Repertoire

Section I Guitar: categories, repertoire and duration:

A – Born from January 1st 2012: up to 7 minutes free program

B – Born between 1st January 2010 and 31st December 2011: up to 10 minutes free program

C – Born between January 1st 2008 and December 31st 2009: up to 12 minutes free program

D – Born between 1st January 2006 and 31st December 2007, up to 15 minutes free program

E – Born between January 1st 2003 and December 31st 2005, up to 20 minutes free program

F – Born between January 1st 1996 and December 31st 2002, free program up to 25 minutes

For E and F categories there are two steps: the Eliminatory and the Final, that will be held on the same day. The preliminary round program will be at participant choice, with a maximum duration of 10′. The commission has the right to interrupt the execution after the determined duration. Those admitted to the Final Round could perform pieces already presented in the Eliminatory Round, for a total duration that corresponds to the belonging category.

 

Section II Piano: categories, repertoire and duration:

A – Born from January 1st 2012, up to 7 minutes free program

B – Born between 1st January 2010 to 31st December 2011, up to 10 minutes free program

C – Born between January 1st 2008 and December 31st 2009, up to 12 minutes free program

 D – Born between 1st January 2006 and 31st December 2007, up to 15 minutes free program

E – Born between January 1st 2003 and December 31st 2005, up to 20 minutes free program

F – Born between January 1st 1996 and December 31st 2002, up to 25 minutes free program

A – Born from January 1st 2012, up to 7 minutes free program

B – Born between 1st January 2010 to 31st December 2011, up to 10 minutes free program

C – Born between January 1st 2008 and December 31st 2009, up to 12 minutes free program

D – Born between 1st January 2006 and 31st December 2007, up to 15 minutes free program

 

E – Born between January 1st 2002 and December 31st 2005, there will be two steps

Eliminatory:
a piece for flute and piano that you can choose between:

  •  G.Enescu, Cantabile e presto
  • G.Fauré, Fantasia
  • C.Chaminade, Concertino
  • P.Gaubert, Notturne et Allegro Scherzando

Final:
Free program up to 10 minutes, it is not possible to repeat pieces already performed in the Eliminatory round

 

F – Born between January 1st 1996 and December 31st 2001, there will be two steps:

Eliminatory:
1. two movement from J.S.Bach, Partita in la-minore/C.Ph.E.Bach, Sonata in la-minore
2. a free choice piece for flute solo (indicative title E.Bozza, Image; L.Berio, Sequenza; P-O.Ferroud, 3 pieces; J.Ibert, Piece)

Final:
Free choice program for flute and piano lasting up to 15 minutes
(indicative title S.Prokofiev, Sonata (3 movements); F.Schubert, Introduction, theme and variation on Theme “Trockne Blumen”; A.Jolivet, Chant de Linos; F.Martin, Ballade, A.Casella, Sicilienne et burlesque)

 

Art. 5 – Auditions

According to the calendar decided by the management, the competitors will be called to the auditions. The calendar of the individual categories will be announced on the 1st of April and the competition will be public, depending on the space availability and the health indications in force. For more information about the audition schedule, competitors can contact the Academy Secretariat directly or visit the website www.agmaccademia.com.

Participants will be required to arrive half an hour before their audition in order to check the attendance.
Maximum punctuality is required; any delays will be admitted only by the Jury discretion, before the closing of the Minutes relating to their Category.

Before their Audition, competitors have to provide to the Jury an identity document and 3 paper copies of the pieces that will be performed.
The audition results will be communicated after the judges evaluations.

Art. 6 – Jury

The appointed Jury will be composed by teachers from conservatories, professional musicians, teachers and orchestra professors. The Jury will express its vote in hundredths after a collective discussion.
The Jury members, who have or had an educational relationship with candidates in the two years preceding the start date of the same, can participate in the discussion but not in the evaluation of the same. The Jury members are open to meet candidates for a brief comment on the performances after the awards ceremony.

Art. 7 – Score and award

  • The overall winner for each category will be the competitor who has obtained the highest score (and not less) than 98/100.
  •  The first place consists of competitors who will have reported a score of not less than 95/100.
  • The second place consists of competitors who will have reported a score of not less than 90/100.
  • The Third place consists of competitors who will have reported a score of not less than 85/100.

For all the competitors that will achieve the First, Second and Third Place, there will be a medal and diploma.
For all the other competitors, there will be a certificate of participation.
For the competitors belonging to D, E, F categories, who will obtain the higher score (not less that 95/100), there will be the following awards (one of each category).

The award will be given by the Contest Direction on the different commissions indication:

For the competitors who have obtained the highest score (in any case not less than 95/100) in categories D, E, F, the following prizes are foreseen, one for each section. The prizes will be awarded by the Competition Management on the indication of the various commissions:

 

I Section: Guitar

D Category – 1 scholarship of € 80,00

E Category – 1 scholarship of € 100,00 ; 1 concert during the concert season 2022/2023

F Category – 1 scholarship of € 200,00 ; 1 concert during the concert season 2022/2023

 

II Section: Piano

D Category – 1 scholarship of € 80,00

E Category – 1 scholarship of € 100,00 ; 1 concert during the concert season 2022/2023

F Category – 1 scholarship of € 200,00 ; 1 concert during the concert season 2022/2023

 

III Section: Violin

D Category – 1 scholarship of € 80,00

E Category – 1 scholarship of € 100,00 ; 1 concert during the concert season 2022/2023

F Category – 1 scholarship of € 200,00 ; 1 concert during the concert season 2022/2023

 

IV Section: Flute

D Category – 1 scholarship of € 80,00

E Category – 1 scholarship of € 100,00 ; 1 concert during the concert season 2022/2023

F Category – 1 scholarship of € 200,00 ; 1 concert during the concert season 2022/2023

The winner must perform free on charge during the concert awarding on Sunday, 10th April at 5:00 PM, Theater Pasolini of Cervignano according to the Programm designed by the Accademy (if not, the award will be revoked).

Art. 8 – Registration Fee

A, B, C category:
€ 30,00
D, E, F category:
€ 40,00
Competitors have the chance to be accompanied by their own pianist, for which there is no participation fee.

Competitors have the chance to request to the Accademia the accompanying pianist of the Competition. There will be a supplementary contribution of 50,00 euros. This request has to be done at the time of the registration, WITHIN THURSDAY 10th MARCH 2022 with the attached PDF files of the pieces presented. The files have to be sent to the e-mail address concorso@agmaccademia.com. If the score will be received after the deadline, the organization cannot guarantee the accompanying pianist. On the audition day, according to a calendar published on the site 2 days before there will be a rehearsal with the pianist.

Art. 9 – Application

The application form can be submitted starting from Monday 10 January 2022 by filling in the specific form prepared by the organization on the website www.agmaccademia.com.
The application, accompanied by proof of payment of the registration fee, must be completed WITHIN AND NOT LATER THAN MONDAY 28th MARCH 2022.

All bank and / or postal charges are recovered from the competitor. The registration fee is not refundable unless the competition is canceled or the Section is not activated.

Art. 10 – Common regulation

Competitors can enroll in a Category equal to or higher than their age.
For each Category there is a maximum duration limit which does not oblige Competitors to arrive at. In the event that the execution exceeds these limits, the Commission may interrupt the execution. Execution by heart is not required.
The final judgment will be final in all cases
If the maximum number of auditions per section will exceed, the management reserves the right to no longer accept registrations. The order of arrival of the registrations will be taken into account.

Art. 11 – Final regulation

The organization provides to competitors a room for practise upon request, if it’s possible.
Only a piano will be available for candidates. Candidates are required to supply all other instruments useful for their performances.
Registration of the competition implies full acceptance of the Rules contained in the Regulations. The registration fees for the competition include the membership card.
The organization of the competition does not assume responsibility for any risks or damages of any nature to people or things during the event.
The Competition Management may take any decision not specified in the announcement regarding the organization of the Competition itself.

Art. 12 – Privacy

The personal data provided with the application to participate in the Call will be processed in compliance with current legislation pursuant to the GDPR 2016/679 and subsequent amendments and additions.
