International Music Competition "Città di Cervignano"

Edition 2023

The 2nd edition of the International Music Competition ‘City of Cervignano’ 2023 took place from 30 March to 2 April, organised in partnership with the Municipality of Cervignano del Friuli (UD) and under the patronage of the municipalities of Aquileia, Farra d’Isonzo and Fogliano di Redipuglia.

The competition, born with the aim of welcoming excellence in classical music on an international scale, welcomed 152 participants from 26 different countries: Armenia, Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, China, South Korea, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, USA, Taiwan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.

Thanks to the contribution of numerous sponsors, a prize fund of 8,100.00 Euro was allocated to support the young talents. This was decided by technical juries of excellence, composed of internationally renowned teachers and concert artists, such as Maestro Dieter Flury, for years first flute of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Maestro Ilya Grubert, world-renowned teacher and concert artist, and Maestro Adriano Del Sal, concert artist and teacher at the renowned Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna.

The final evenings including the award ceremony were held on 31 March and 2 April 2023 at the ‘Pier Paolo Pasolini’ Municipal Theatre in Cervignano del Friuli.

In addition to the realisation of the competition, several collateral activities were carried out, including the Concerts of the winners of the 2022 edition (Giulia Toniolo, Sofia De Martis, Matteo Spagnol, Lodovico Parravicini, Vera Cecino, Saulė Pavilionytė, Marko Bojanovic), the Art Exhibition of the artist Vittorio Menditto, and the cultural activities planned for the participants and accompanying persons in transit through Cervignano del Friuli and neighbouring areas.

Edition 2022

The first edition of the “Città di Cervignano” International Music Competition was held in April 2022, which saw the participation of numerous young musicians on the international scene from Italy (FVG, Veneto, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Puglia) and from abroad (England, Serbia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Croatia, Macedonia).

The prestigious juries of guitar, flute, piano and violin sections have selected the winners of the prizes received at the final concert on Sunday 10 April 2022 at the Pasolini Theater in Cervignano del Friuli.
