Art.1 The competition
The third edition of the “Città di Cervignano” International Music Competition is organized by the AGM Academy (ASSOCIAZIONE AGM PER GLI STUDI ART. MUSICALI COREUTICI E LINGUIST. APS) of Cervignano del Friuli (UD – Italy). The objective of the competition is to promote the study of music, increase opportunities for international exchanges and support local talent. The competition is open to young musicians up to the age of 30 of any nationality, provided they have not won first prize in past editions in the same category in which they apply for admission. The competition is held annually.
Art.2 Procedures and location
The auditions will be held in-person at the locations to be announced by the AGM Association in Cervignano del Friuli (Ud-Italy) or nearby locations and will be evaluated by the committees according to the following schedule:

Art. 3 Sections
The competition is divided into five sections: Flute, Guitar, Piano, Violin and Chamber Music. For each section there are different categories based on the participant’s age. Participation in the competition is permitted in more than one section; Each individual musician may participate in multiple ensembles in the Chamber Music section (example Duo and Quintet).
Art. 4 Repertoire
Performance from memory is not required. Program repertoire may not be changed except through written notification to the Competition Secretariat NO LATER THAN MONDAY 22 APRIL 2024. The performance of incomplete works (for example one movement of a Sonata) is permitted.
GUITAR Section: categories, repertoire and duration:
Eliminatory: up to 10 minutes free program
Final (max. 6 candidates admitted): up to 20 minutes free program
Candidates in the Final Round may not perform pieces already presented in Eliminatory.

FLUTE Section: categories, repertoire and duration:
Eliminatory: A Baroque Sonata of choice for flute and basso continuo to be performed with piano (indicative composers J.S. Bach, A. Vivaldi, G.F. Händel, G.Ph. Telemann), duration must be less than 10 minutes.
Final (max. 6 candidates admitted): Free choice program for flute and piano including at least one piece from the 20th century lasting up to 20 minutes.

One piece for flute solo written after 1958, duration must be less than 7 minutes
Final (max. 6 candidates admitted):
Free choice program for flute and piano lasting up to 20 minutes (indicative titles S. Prokofiev, Sonata; F. Poulenc, Sonata; F. Martin, Ballade, A. Casella, Sicilienne et burlesque; H. Dutilleux, Sonatine)
First movement of one of the Concerts to be chosen from: J. Ibert, J. Rodrigo, C. Nielsen, A. Khachaturian
CHAMBER MUSIC Section: ncategories, repertoire and duration:
Each member of the ensemble must be of the required age.

Each member of the ensemble must be of the required age.
Participation in the competition is open to chamber ensembles comprised of 2 to 12 people. Ensembles are limited to one piano. Electric or amplified instruments and prepared piano cannot be accepted. The organization has one piano and up to 12 standard music stands available for use during the audition. For rehearsals, candidates are expected to bring their own music stands and instruments, including any secondary/auxiliary instruments. Eligible repertoire includes original compositions or transcriptions already edited at the time of execution. Improvisation is not allowed.
Art. 5 – Auditions
The competitors will be called to perform by category according to the calendar defined by the organization. The calendar of the individual categories will be announced on the 24 APRIL 2024 and the competition will be open to the public, limited by available space. Participants must arrive a half hour before their audition with their identity documents ready at the time of their call. Maximum punctuality is requested and any delayed participants will be admitted only at jury final discretion, before the closing of the procedure relating to their Category.
The audition results will be communicated at the end of the jury deliberation.
Art. 6 – Jury
The appointed jury will be composed of conservatory professors, professional musicians and orchestra members. The jury will express its vote after a collective discussion on a scale of 100 points.
Any jury members who have or have had an educational relationship with candidates in the two years preceding the opening of the competition, will not be permitted to participate in the discussion or evaluation of said candidates, and their recusal will be annotated in the evaluation.
The association reserves the right to replace the announced members of the Jury or form a double commission for the section based on the logistical needs of the competition.
The jury members will be available after the awards ceremony to meet candidates for brief comments on the performances.
Art. 7 – Score and award
The overall winner for each category will be the competitor who has obtained the highest score (and not less) than 98/100.
The First tier of competitors will include candidates who have earned a score not less than 95/100.
The Second tier will include candidates who have earned a score not less than 90/100.
The second and third place winners in categories A0, A, B, C, D, E, F will take place after the jury evaluation. The absolute winners and first place winners of all categories, as well as first, second and third place winners of category G will be awarded at the Winner’s Concert. The first, second and third place winners of all categories and sections will receive a Medal and a Diploma. A Diploma of Participation is provided for the other competitors.

The winners are obligated to perform free-of-charge during the Winner’s Concert, according to the order and program of the Competition and communicated to the competitors during the announcement of the winners. Failure to perform will result in the annulment and cancellation of the relevant prize. In the event of joint winners (ex aequo), the prize will be divided. Only a lump-sum expense reimbursement is provided for concerts in the prize.

CHAMBER MUSIC Section
Category A: € 30.00 per member, for groups of 6 to 12 components the fee is fixed at € 180.00 for the whole ensemble.
Category B: € 40,00 per member, for groups of 6 to 12 members the fee is fixed at € 240,00 for the whole ensemble.
Category C: € 50.00 per member, for groups of 6 to 12 members the fee is fixed at € 300.00 for the whole ensemble.
Competitors may be accompanied by their own pianist, for whom there is no participation fee. It is possible to request an accompanying pianist for the Competition with an additional contribution of € 50.00 for categories A0, A, B, C, D and € 70.00 for categories E, F, G. The request for the pianist must be made together with the application form, NO LATER THAN MONDAY 18 MARCH 2024. If the performance score is received after the deadline, the organization cannot guarantee an accompanying pianist. One day before or on the day of the auditions, there will be a rehearsal with the pianist according to a schedule that will be published on the website 3 days before.
Art. 9 – Application
The application form, accompanied by proof of payment of the registration fee, can be submitted starting from Monday 8th JANUARY 2024 to Monday 8th APRIL 2024 by filling in the specific form prepared by the organization on the website www.agmaccademia.com. The application with the request for the pianist must be made NO LATER THAN MONDAY 18 MARCH 2024.

All bank, PayPal and / or postal charges are at the expense of the competitor. The registration fee is non- refundable unless the competition is canceled or the Section is not activated. If the maximum number of auditions per section is exceeded, the management reserves the right to refuse further entries. The order in which registrations are received will be taken into account.
Art. 10 – Common regulation
Competitors may enroll in a Category equal to or higher than their age. For each Category there is a maximum duration limit which does not oblige Competitors to arrive at. In the event that the execution exceeds these limits, the Commission may interrupt the execution. The jury’s judgment will be final in all cases.
Art. 11 – Final regulation
Upon request the organization will provide, competitors, whenever possible, a room for practice.
Candidates are required to supply their own instruments for their performances.
Registration in the competition implies full acceptance of the regulations described in this document. The registration fees for the competition include a membership card.
The organization of the competition does not assume responsibility for any risks or damages of any nature to people or things during the event.
The organization may make any decisions not specified in the announcement as regards the organization of the Competition itself.
Art. 12 – Privacy
The personal data provided with the application to participate in the Call will be processed in compliance with current legislation pursuant to the GDPR 2016/679 and subsequent amendments and additions.
A release/authorisation for the publication of photos and videos is requested at the time of registration.
